Over the weekend I had an amazing time playing music with my band.  I brought along my Epiphone Les Paul guitar, but even more than that, I really wanted to bring along my old MiniMoog synthesizer.  I never played the Moog with my band, but I was dying for an opportunity to do so. I was a bit nervous about bringing the Moog out because I wasn't sure how the other members would react, and I was also a little bit worried about whether or not the synthesizer could stay in tune.  I got off to shaky start, but when I dialed in all the settings and got the tuning nail down, everything came into place. I slowly became more and more confident and the sounds coming out of the synthesizer were just incredible. I was capturing all those great, rich classic synth sounds one can find on many albums throughout the 1970s.
Now that I have brought this old synth back into the mix, I can see how weak and thin sounding the modern digital synthesizers truly are.  So next jam I have with my band, I will surely bring along my reliable digital synthesizer but I think I'll be far more interested to incorporate my trusty old MiniMoog again.  I love the contrast between the old and the new, and one without the other would get a bit boring.  I can't wait until next week when I get a chance to bring out the moog again for another long jam session.

Oh yeah, and be sure to check out my videos on youtube.  Just google "Minimoog" and you'll be sure to find some of my videos.  You'll know they're my videos when you see a link to this website or look for my first name which happens to be Peter.  Cheers and I will keep you up to date on all my moog news.
